New Forest Wealth Management was pleased to hold the third annual golf competition at Hamptworth Golf and Country Club. On Thursday 12th June 2018.
This year, we suffered with inclement weather conditions but were lucky enough to avoid the worst of the rain and the much threatened thunderstorms abated for us all to enjoy a safe and enjoyable round.
We had 45 participants enjoying the challenging course and once again we were all made to feel exceptionally welcomed and well supported by Michael and his team at Hamptworth.
The course has benefited from significant improvements over the last few years and our golfers who were returning for the third year had commented how well the course was playing and how challenging the entire round was.
We were delighted to be entertained by Dan Looney from St. James's Place Wealth Management who talked to us all about the current investment market, the threats, challenges and opportunities that are out there for our Fund Managers and our clients, the strength of our investment management approach, as well as going on to discuss some of the changes that are impacting our personal tax planning, in particular looking at things like the impact of the Residential Nil Rate Band on Inheritance Tax planning.
It was especially pleasing that in our third year we had amongst our staff for the first time Andrew White, who won the golf championship with us as a client two years previously. It was a lovely opportunity to welcome him as an adviser into the practice and allow him to be introduced to many of our key clients.
The results of the prize giving are confirmed as follows:
- Best Individual Score: Brett Coombs
- Best Group: Team 11 - Andrew White, Ed Gillion and Brett Coombs
- Hidden Holes: David Walker
- Longest Drive (Hole 15): Barry Hurst
- Nearest the Pin (Hole 10): Brett Coombs
- Beat the Beast (Hole 16): David Coates, Peter Darlington, Adam Johnson, Dean Riddett, Charles Walker, James Walker and Andrew White.
Congratulations to all the winners and a special well done to all those who managed to “Beat the Beast” on hole 16.
Adam Johnson, Director of New Forest Wealth Management said “It was lovely to be able to welcome and share a great day out with our clients and key guests. The messages from Dan Looney were especially pertinent given this uncertain economic time and provided great reassurance to all of our clients.
I am grateful for the fantastic support that I got from all the team at Hamptworth as well as the amazing hard work that the staff at New Forest Wealth Management put in to allow the event to run so smoothly, organising a day with 45 golfers with uncertain weather conditions takes an enormous amount of management both in preparation and on the day and no matter what happened, my team remained unflappable and I am truly grateful for their support.
I look forward to welcoming everybody back next year and fingers crossed the golf will be as good and the weather better.”
A date for your diary - next year’s event will be held on Friday 7th June 2019.
